Blood Donors

If you are between 18 and 70 years old, you can donate blood. It is an act that can save a life, and there is a dedicated path for donors, followed by specialized personnel.

The facilities for blood collection are exclusively intended for donors. Before you can donate, you will speak with a doctor to receive all the necessary clarifications.

To book the day and time of the donation, contact the transfusion service or the reference donor association. Choose where to go to donate blood.

You can also donate blood at mobile blood donation units by consulting the February 2025 Calendar.

Attention: donating blood is a precious act, but not everyone can do it, and not always.

If you do not enjoy optimal health conditions, you may be temporarily or permanently excluded from donations:

Organ and Tissue Donors

You can donate your organs and tissues by expressing your "yes" to donation. You can be a living donor, for example by donating hematopoietic stem cells. You can choose to donate your organs and tissues after death.

To donate organs and tissues, you must declare your intention regarding this, and you can do so in two ways:

  • at the municipality, at the registry office, when you renew or when your identity card is issued, ask to express your preference;

  • at the ASL, at the office dedicated to organ donation, request and sign the appropriate form.

Donating is an act of generosity towards the community, as it allows many lives to be saved.

Insights

Choosing to donate blood is a precious gesture for the community. However, for the health of both the donor and the recipient, it is not always possible to do so.
